Icing on the Cupcake

Published by joyofstamping under Imaginisce, Stampendous

Merry Muffins Club

I can’t tell you how much I love this set!!!! It is so much fun to play with and the possibilities are endless! :) (Check out what some of my dear friends have created here.)

This is one of the cards we made at my stamp night last Monday. We colored the icing with Copics and then put liquid appliqué over. The patterned paper is from Imaginsce’s baby line called Baby Powder. I gave them each a piece of the Queen of the Crib paper and told them to just cut a piece off the top and flip the paper over. We also used scraps of that paper to paper piece the bottom of the cupcake. I just love how it all coordinates! :) The fun ribbon is from a cool store (StarLitStudio).

I’m going to a stamping retreat in Wisconsin next weekend and I’m so excited to see some of the coolest stamping friends! AND….. I might even get to stamp. LOL!

Till next time……

JFFC#2 Challenge

Published by joyofstamping under Stampendous

TEC Merry Muffins

My dear friend Taylor issued Jami and I another Just for Fun Challenge. I just love these challenges because I actually get to stamp and they are just so much fun. The “rules” for this challenge was to use the cardstock and patterned paper Taylor gave us, use buttons that she provided (sorry they are naked buttons, but I ran out of anything that would fit in the holes.  I guess that means I need to go ribbon shopping again! Ü), and JUST HAVE FUN! :)

I took inspiration from Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #27. I loved the layout…. but didn’t realize it was a square card until after I cut my cardstock. Duh moment! :) That’s ok. It was a great layout in A2 form, too! :)

This stamp set is a new Stampendous stamp set that will be exclusive to eP and will be available for purchase this Friday! :) It is called Merry Muffins, but can be a year round set. I stamped the middle image and then masked it with eclipse tape and then stamped the other 2 cupcakes. I then colored the images with Copics. I also paper pieced the bottoms of the cupcakes with the paper that Taylor had given us. It is actually one piece of paper, but I justed used the reverse side for one of the cupcakes. I also added white Liquid Applique to the outer cupcakes for that extra texture. And of course, I added my new “love of my life” Glossy Accents to the middle cupcake. Here is a close up of the image. Summer Changito

Published by joyofstamping under Imaginisce, Stampendous

Summer Changito

How does time seem to be flying by sooooooooooooooooo fast?  How are we in the middle of July already?   Didn’t Winter CHA just pass?  How is it already time for CHA in July?

A few weeks ago, my dear friend Bevie Pearl (who I get to see and hug in Chicago in a few days) issued us a challenge to stamp something summery.  Well, I had actually taken some time to stamp….. and I forgot all about my card until I started cleaning up my stamp room and found this card! :)

When I see this card, I have to smile.  4 of my favorite things  are included in this card: Changito, Imaginisce Paper, Copics, and Summer.  Since I was sending this to a guy, I guess I can’t really put “too much” bling. (Is there such a thing?)  I guess the glitter and gloss from the cardstock itself is enough! :)

Looking forward to seeing my friends and new products at CHA in just a couple of days!  I will try to blog from Chicago! :)  I’ll definitely let you all know some cool things I spot! :)

Sushi

Published by joyofstamping under Projects, Stampendous

Sushi

Isn’t Sushi just adorable? I have been wanting to stamp with Sushi since we got these stamps in….. but time has been so limited.

When I was Eugene Oregon for the Copic Certification, my roomies (Cami and Leann) and I started playing around with the AirBrush System. We then started airbrushing the clear dew drops to match our projects. For this project, I airbrushed the clear dew drops with RV04 and BG01 to match the cupcake and the water. I also airbrushed the WHITE ribbon with YR07 to match Sushi! :)

I also cut out the center of the fish bowl and added a piece of acetate to make it look like glass. Unfortunately, from the angle I took the picture, you can’t really see it. Sushi, the cupcake and the sandcastle area all popped up on foam tape.

This was a fun project! :)

Taylor’s Birthday Party

Taylor’s Birthday

How do I always seem to be late to things these days? I was all ready for the party, but I just never got it posted. Next thing you know…. I’m running all over town to graduation party after graduation party…. not to mention visiting all of the relatives that are in town due to graduations and summer vacations.

I made this card for Taylor’s Virtual Birthday Party. I can’t look at this set without thinking of her. And just to say how special this girl is to me…. I used my beloved Cool Carri bean cardstock that I have been hoarding since SU retired this color.

Sour Patch Kids

This is what I brought to the Birthday party. I have been fortunate enough to spend quite a bit of time with Taylor. We have had some great memories. She is a TALL girl, but every inch of her is filled with kindness. She is seriously one of the NICEST, most kind-hearted soul I have ever met. I am so lucky to be friends with her. Sometimes…. I touch her just hoping that I could collect some of her mojo! :)

One of my favorite times with Taylor was CHA last summer in Chicago. We got to room together and we had the BEST breakfasts….. Sour Patch Kids and Skittles. Who could ask for a more nutritious breakfast? Come on now…. those are packed with Lemon, Lime, Cherry, Grapes, and Oranges. What more can a person ask for in a breakfast? LOL!

Paper: SU! Cool Carribean, Cryogen White
Stamps: Hey There Cupcake, Just-Rite Small Letters

Inks: Versamagic Tea Leaves, Versamagic Sea Breeze, Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid
Accessories: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots, SU Oval Punches, Marvy Scallop Circle Punch, Cindy Ribbon, Adorn-It Jewels

Taylor’s Challenge - Graduation

Published by joyofstamping under Stampendous

WOW! I can’t believe how many graduations I have to attend. Yesterday, we had a graduation party for 3 cousins. I don’t mind making multiple cards…. but sometimes I’m too pressed for time that its hard to “push” my creativity. LOL! Thank goodness for Taylor’s Cupcake Challenge (TECC19). What a perfect layout. One card done. LOL!

I used my Just-Rite Monogram Set for the first time. I just loved it and it was perfect. Since this card was for a male cousin, I couldn’t really add the bling that I wanted to add. I had to make it somewhat simple. I just love the Stampendous Graduation stamps. and I had to add the Adorn-It Multi-Colored Jewels. This card fit perfectly in the Business Sized envelopes.

Now…. I had to come up with something for my other male cousin…. hmmmmm…. what to do…….

I saw this cute Gift Card Tutorial from Julie’s Blog. I thought it would be perfect. Again…. a male card…. so I had to keep it simple. Here is my take.

Again, I used the Stampendous Graduations Stamps. I used the Sakura Stardust pens to color in the ribbon on the diploma. It’s hard to see the sparkle.

Surprisingly, my guy cousins loved their cards….. Phew! :)

Changito Birthday

Published by joyofstamping under Stampendous

Changito Birthday

When we had first received the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folders, I knew the “perfect” stamp to go with it.  I love how there are dots in the sign that the monkeys are holding up.

Sorry for the fuzzy picture…. I had to get this out last month for a dear friend’s birthday.  I know she loves Changito. :)

I added Pink Dot Sparklers for the corners, as well as to the “girl” monkey.  I wanted her to have a belly ring!  LOL!

I’m so excited……. I’m leaving for Eugene Oregon to get Copic Certified with my dear friends Cami and Leann! I can’t tell you how excited I am.  I hope I’m not too “slow” for the class.  I can’t wait to learn more about these amazing markers! :)

Happy Easter

Published by joyofstamping under Projects, Stampendous

2008 Easter

Can you believe Easter is almost here? I can’t believe it…… Didn’t we just pop the cork and wish everyone a happy new year? Where has the time gone?

I have been so in love with all of the Stampendous Easter/Spring stamps. This one was one of my favorites. This one is the Easter Word Bunny. We did this one in my stamp club. This was inspired by the Sympathy card I had made. Same basic concept.

I just love this Imaginsce Paper. This one is called Color Me Happy, which it totally does. the paper is 2 sided. Both sides are so cute. And there is a touch of glitter on the paper, too. I just love it.

After coloring in the image, I took my quickie glue pen and filled in the Bunny. I love how the pen is blue when its wet so that you can see where you are coloring. But, it dries so clear. While the glue was still wet, I took white fun flock and patted it down into the glue on the bunny. I just love the extra fuzzy texture it gives! :) Here is a closer view. You can click on the picture for an even closer view.

I’m wishing you and your family a very Happy Easter! :)

Egg Roll

Published by joyofstamping under Projects, Stampendous

I looooooove Spinner Cards. They are almost as fun as shaker cards. You can check out my dear friend Cami’s tutorial here. But, instead of using the Circle Punch and then the paper cutter, we just used the Word Window Punch. (Thanks Auntie for showing me that trick)

The background stamp we used was the Stampendous Edible Easter Border. We used our Stamp-a-majig. Some of the girls just eyeballed the background and did VERY well. But, I don’t have the skills to eyeball. It was the first time we used the Stamp-a-majig in club. I don’t normally use it, but I think I may start! I know my friend Val LOVES and uses hers all of the time. I also added some fun flock to the Bunny and the Chick. It’s hard to see, but I love the little dimension it adds. And, I can’t stop touching it!

The Egg that spins is the Blossom Egg, also by Stampendous. Of course, I had to use my Copics to color these pretty stamps in.

When I showed the card to my club girls, one of them says….. “Oh, an Egg Roll”. We all laughed. Now every time I see this card, I get hungry for eggrolls! :)
