Icing on the Cupcake

Merry Muffins Club

I can’t tell you how much I love this set!!!! It is so much fun to play with and the possibilities are endless! :) (Check out what some of my dear friends have created here.)

This is one of the cards we made at my stamp night last Monday. We colored the icing with Copics and then put liquid appliqué over. The patterned paper is from Imaginsce’s baby line called Baby Powder. I gave them each a piece of the Queen of the Crib paper and told them to just cut a piece off the top and flip the paper over. We also used scraps of that paper to paper piece the bottom of the cupcake. I just love how it all coordinates! :) The fun ribbon is from a cool store (StarLitStudio).

I’m going to a stamping retreat in Wisconsin next weekend and I’m so excited to see some of the coolest stamping friends! AND….. I might even get to stamp. LOL!

Till next time……

Dirty Girl Challenge - Jenn

Published by joyofstamping under Imaginisce, MFT

Dirty Girl - Jenn

So, yesterday, I’m sitting in my office on the 2nd floor of a “crappy” County Building. All of a sudden, we hear a BOOM! and the entire 2nd floor just starts rolling…… Now, I don’t know if it’s my age….. but when I was younger, earthquakes never scared me before. This time, I told myself to remain calm, but my legs started getting wobbly. I don’t know if this one was longer than I’m use to, but it seemed to have lasted forever. I was just glad it was over….. but then came the part that was even harder….. no cell service for a while. My sis just moved into a new place and didn’t have a land line phone. I was a little nervous about my 18 month old nephew with all of the boxes and stuff piled high from their move. But luckily, all is well with them! :)

When I got home, my mom asked me for a wedding card. I looked in my tiny stash of cards and noticed that there was nothing in there for a wedding…. hmmmmm…. does that mean that I actually have to stamp AGAIN? LOL! I had no mojo after dealing with the earthquake and the meetings that arise from it. So, I went to Splitcoast for some inspiration. It took all of 24 seconds for me to find the Dirty Girl Challenges and I immediatly spoted Jenn Balcer’s challenge. I knew exactly which paper to grab, now I justed needed a wedding image. Within 1 minute, I found this cute MFT stamp called Heart’s Galore and thought it would be perfect.  I used my Scor-Pal for my dry embossing along the edge of my white cardstock.

It was awesome to be able to whip out a card in less than 15 minutes and be totally happy with it…. Thanks Jenn for the inspiration. I popped up the images with some Foam Tape, the 1/16th” tape for the celery cardstock to the black scalloped cardstock and then the 1/8″ for the Black scalloped to the rest of the card. And isn’t this CindyRibbon gorgeous? I think I need to restock on this beautiful ribbon.

And of course my card would not be complete with my new love…. Ranger’s Glossy Glaze. Close Up

Thanks to everyone that e-mailed, called, texted to make sure that I was ok! :)

Box in a Bag

Box in a bag

It is good to be home….. CHA was a blast and it was awesome to see so many friends and adorable new products. But, nothing beats being home with your husband and sleeping in your own bed…. although I had a great bed-mate at CHA! :) The only part about being home that I didn’t miss was having to go back to work! BLECK!

Then, on Wednesday night, I had stamp night. Oh my! What was I going to make? My brain was barely functioning when I got back Monday night…. and I just wanted to watch TV and spend time with my husband on Tuesday night. But, I knew I had to suck it up and get to work. We normally make 4 projects. One of the projects is normally a box or 3D item. A light-bulb went on in my head. I can make those cool Box in a Bag by Diana Gibbs.

I know you may think “Isn’t she tired of that paper from Imaginisce?” As you can see, I am not tired of it yet! LOL! And the girls from Stamp Night still love it. I guess living in SoCal, you can’t help but love the Beach-themed papers and stamps. AND it helps that these penguins are so cute! :)

The popsicle stamp I used for the tag is also from the Imaginisce line “A Shore Thing“. I then covered it with Ranger’s Glossy Accents to give it a “wet” look. I loooooove that product. It gives it a 3D effect and such a pretty gloss. You can click on the image for a larger view. Popsicle Close-up

Once I get caught up, I’m hoping I’ll be able to stamp again soon! :)

Till next time…….

Summer Changito

Summer Changito

How does time seem to be flying by sooooooooooooooooo fast?  How are we in the middle of July already?   Didn’t Winter CHA just pass?  How is it already time for CHA in July?

A few weeks ago, my dear friend Bevie Pearl (who I get to see and hug in Chicago in a few days) issued us a challenge to stamp something summery.  Well, I had actually taken some time to stamp….. and I forgot all about my card until I started cleaning up my stamp room and found this card! :)

When I see this card, I have to smile.  4 of my favorite things  are included in this card: Changito, Imaginisce Paper, Copics, and Summer.  Since I was sending this to a guy, I guess I can’t really put “too much” bling. (Is there such a thing?)  I guess the glitter and gloss from the cardstock itself is enough! :)

Looking forward to seeing my friends and new products at CHA in just a couple of days!  I will try to blog from Chicago! :)  I’ll definitely let you all know some cool things I spot! :)

Friendly Stamp For Fun Blog Challenge

Published by joyofstamping under Imaginisce, Projects

Imaginisce Notebook

A while back, my dear friend Jami made these cool notebooks. I totally admired them. To my surprise, she provided me with one and she issued Taylor and I this fun challenge:

  • use stamps you love (who doesn’t love these cute Penguins from Imaginisce? And living in Cali, I love this beach theme)
  • use Copics (The three of us love to color)
  • use ribbon (Oops! I added it AFTER I took the pix….. Had to use a ribbon across the top where the black is.)
  • use colors you love (had to use the blue cardstock for my scallop circle since blue is my favorite color)
  • no restrictions - STAMP FOR FUN! (Woohoo! Stamp for Fun! That’s the best part! I don’t get to do that too often.)

Thank you Jami for providing this fun Challenge. I can’t wait to see what Jami and Taylor create! :)  I know More is More, but I had fun doing this super duper simple project! :)

Imaginisce Baby

Have I told you lately how much I love Imaginisce? LOL!Their images and papers are so fun to work with. This is their new baby line called Baby Powder. Their cardstocks are made perfectly for cardmakers since their patterns are nice and small. AND most of their papers are either glittered or flocked. So, as you can tell, I couldn’t make just one.

Happy Hedgehog

Published by joyofstamping under Imaginisce, Penny Black

Happy Hedgehog

Man! When I’m hooked on a layout, I am REALLY hooked!!!!! I loved Taylor’s Sketch challenge (TECC19) so much that I had made graduations cards out them and now a birthday card! :)

I needed to make a birthday card, but since I’ve had such a void in stamping, I just sat at my stamp desk and stared blankly for like 5 minutes. Finally, I told myself to start with a layout I liked….. Taylors came to mind right away.

I love this stamp from Penny Black.  It’s called A Winner.  I have a thing for hedgehog stamps! :)  They are just too cute!  At first I didn’t know what to do because the stamp wouldn’t fit in any of my punches.  And then…. duh!  It hit me.  I don’t need the WHOLE stamp to fit.  Just the main part.

I also love this paper from Imaginise.  It’s from their All Kids of Happy line.   I added a few Stampendous Dot Sparklers around the paper to add that extra bling! :)

Penguin Dude

Published by joyofstamping under Imaginisce

Penguin Dude

When my friend Pine told us about these Penguins from Imaginisce, I HAD TO have them. This whole line is absolutely ADORABLE. Soooooooo very much my style!!!! I love Beach themed stamps and paper. I especially love glittery beach themed paper! :)

I needed a birthday card for my nephew’s birthday. I didn’t have much time to stamp and this line was perfect. This is a 4 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ card. I slapped some paper on and then used this cute Penguin Dude stamp. He is so nice and big and totally worth $0.99. What a steal! And the paper comes with glitter and some parts are glossy.

I colored the penguin with my Copics and then I added some glossy accents to his popsicle to make it shiny and wet looking.  Mmmmmm….. is it time for popsicles yet? :)

Happy Friday! :)

Imaginisce Sympathy

Imaginisce Sympathy

It is always tough to make a sympathy card. My mom’s cousin passed away from cancer last week and she asked me to make sympathy card for the get together this past weekend. My aunt will be buried in the Philippines.

I didn’t have much time to make the card…. but when I was thinking of an idea, the first thing that caught my eye was the new Imaginisce paper from their Black Tie line. So far, I have loved EVERY paper that we have received from them. We have received 2 lines…. both are so different from each other. One is so elegant and the other is just so cute.

I ran my Cryogen White Cardstock through the cuttlebug using Swiss Dots. I’m so addicted to these two items. I did have to cut my cardstock to 4″ x 11. The 4 1/4″ just looked silly since the cuttlebug folder did not fit all the way to the ends.

The stamp set is by Stampin’ Up and I used Stampin’ Up’s ticket punch for the message. I added some Stampendous Dot Sparklers to the corners. I finished it off with the Black Organdy ribbon.

My mom was very pleased! :)
