Hey There Cupcake!

Published by joyofstamping under Stampendous

When I first saw this set from Stampendous, I couldn’t tell you how happy I was inside. I was ready to do a little dance, but I didn’t want Kimberly thinking I was a freak. LOL! I am also glad to know that our customers loved this set. Who knew that we were going to be sold out in 4 days? Well, I’m happy to say that they are available for ordering again! :)

I took one evening to make a few of these cards. I shipped them with a few of the Cupcake orders! :) This is a 4.25 x 4.25 card. I used the My Mind’s Eye - Tres Bien Paper from the Tres Jolie line. (Thanks Beate for calling me about this line. It’s so yummy!!!!!) And the cute ribbon is from my dear friend Cindy, aka StarLitStudio.

I embossed the cupcake with Stampendous Embossing Powder. This yummy color is called Chocolate brown….. how fitting! :) The paper that it is embossed on is called Cappuccino. Then I punched a little bit of a larger circle on the Poison Ivory cardstock. Then, I used Stampin’ Up’s punch to punch the scallop.

This card was fun to make. I am totally diggin’ this set! :)

2008 Splitcoast Member Survey

Published by joyofstamping under Uncategorized

Splitcoaststampers.com has been a place that I practically live. I was lucky enough to find it in 2004 within months of becoming a Stampin’ Up Demo.  I have made so many friends from this community that I can’t tell you how much this site means to me.  It means so much to me that I’m willing to spend a few hours a day as a Gallery Moderator.

What I also love about this place is how they are constantly looking to improve the site.  Please take a moment to fill out the 2008 Splitcoast Member Survey.  It should only take about 5 minutes.

Thank you.

Hanna

Hanna Valentine

When I saw this Hanna set, I knew I had to have one!!!!!!  This set is called Sweet Celebrations.  All of these sets have been fun to play with.  They’ve especially been fun to Paper Piece.  I took my new Basic Grey Two Scoops 6×6 Paper padout for inspiration.  Then I thought….. “Hmmmmmm…. wouldn’t it be cool if her dress was the smaller print of the patterned paper that I’ll use for the background?”  And so that is what I did! :)  I took out the smaller pattern of Swirl for her dress and then I used the regular print of the 12×12 paper and used that for the background.

I colored her with my Copic Markers. Some people have asked me which style of marker I like better.  To be honest, it really depends.  I started out with the Original makers because I like the fine tip.  I find it easier to control.  But, I am picking up some sketch markers and I love those, too.

I am so addicted to embossing powder right now.  I seem to emboss everything now.  The greeting is embossed with Stampendous Chocolate Brown.  I then used White Pearlsembossing powder from Stampendous for the lips.  It’s translucent, but in the right light, you can see the white pearly finish.  I just love these embossing powders.

This gorgeous ribbon was purchased by my dear friend StarLitStudio.  I’m so in love with the look and feel of it.  I also have it in a light green/celery color! :)

Well, tomorrow eP and Drew turn one.  We hope to have some fun planned.  Stay tuned….. :)

One Year Already?

Published by joyofstamping under Life

Drew - 1 Year  Logo Small

It was a busy time for me just one year ago….. Daisy and I were finalizing some small details before we opened up our store.  And my sister was getting ready to give birth to my adorable Nephew, Andrew (aka Drew).  I can’t believe that both are turning one in just 2 short days.

We spent the last weekend celebrating Drew’s birthday.  He had a Handy Manny party.  I had never heard of him until my sister told me that he was from PlayHouse Disney.  I saw one episode with Drew and he started dancing as soon as the song came on.  The party was VERY fitting for him.  The only tough part was that there weren’t a lot of decorations for Handy Manny.  My sister learned her lesson.  We had to be creative with the goodie bags.

eP will be celebrating its birthday THIS weekend.  The party starts on Thursday, so be sure to sign up for the newsletter (found on the home page on the left hand side) because their will be some fun things coming.

Thanks to everyone for making this past year so successful!

Love Makes the World Go Round

Love Makes the World Go Round

When we saw the new Stampendous Changito stamps, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them. This Changito Love Balloon was one of my favorites. Its just so cute and so fun! I picked out this patterned Paper by My Mind’s Eye in their Out and About No. 1 Collection. I then grabbed the Copic Markers that I thought would best match it.

My favorite embellishment right now is are the Dot Sparklers from Stampendous. So much bling for such a small price. I’m totally addicted to them right now. I used the pink ones for this card. I also thought it would be fun to add some bling to the girl monkey. LOL!

The greeting is called Love Goes Around by Stampendous. It says, “Love Makes the World Go Round”. I used the PEARLustre embossing powder. I’m photography challenged…. so its hard to see the color in this picture.

It was fun to actually stamp for a change. Till next time……………

I’m back……

Published by joyofstamping under Life

Although my trip to the Philippines was fun, there’s nothing like being home and sleeping in your own bed! :)

This trip to the Philippines was for my dear cousin’s wedding.  We spent so much time hanging out with family that I did not take as many pictures as I wanted to.  The scenery can be so beautiful, I wish I could share more of it.

This first picture is of the Taal Volcano in Batangas while we were in Tagaytay.  I wish it wasn’t so cloudy that day.  On a clearer day, you can see the Volcano in that big hill/mountain.  There is actually a lake in that mountain and then the volcano is in the lake.  Isn’t that crazy?  I wish I had a better picture.

These little huts are called Bahay Kubo.  This is where we like to chill and relax.  A lot of my relatives had one in their backyard that we can just relax and “talk stories” all day.  It’s a nice shade from the hot-sticky sun.  This one was taken at a restaurant.  That’s why there are so many.  Usually there is just one.

One thing my husband Kurt enjoyed most about the Philippines is golfing. (comes in 2nd to the $10 hour body massages)  The courses are so green and beautiful.  He took this picture at one of the golf courses in Cavite.  He enjoyed having a Caddy and an Umbrella girl.  You can’t beat the service in the Philippines.

PI Golf

My cousin picked us up from the Airport and he had just gotten the flu.  So, the next 4 days of us being home, we weren’t jet-lagged, we were down with the flu! :(  But, at least we were sick at home vs. on vacation.  Now its just back to the grind.

One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to stamp more.  Since starting eclectic Paperie last year, I rarely get the opportunity to stamp.  I want to be able to enjoy the products that we carry and actually take the time to really TRYwhat we have!  LOL!

Happy New Year!!!!! :)  Wishing you the best in 2008.
